Eye & Cataract Surgery

Can cataracts be removed too early?

No. In fact, in some instances (e.g. angle closure glaucoma), when cataracts are best removed at an earlier stage. The earlier one gets cataract surgery, the fewer risks associated with the surgery. Having said that, if a person has mild cataracts that do not affect their day-to-day living or function, there is no need for surgical intervention.
