Varicose Veins

Are there non-invasive treatments for vascular diseases?

Non-invasive vascular testing utilises various types of technology to evaluate the health of blood vessels at rest and sometimes with exercise. These procedures such as Duplex ultrasound are generally painless and can help to determine if blood vessel disease is present, the location, and severity. Treatment for vascular disease is now minimally invasive in nature -endovascular treatments are minimally invasive procedures that are done inside the blood vessels and can be used to treat peripheral arterial disease (PAD), using angioplasty (ballooning) or stenting to open up blocked leg arteries, disease in the aorta e.g. abdominal aortic aneurysm where stents are used to strengthen the weakened artery from the inside termed EVAR.
