Dr Mohamad Rosman

Dr Mohamad Rosman is a highly experienced, senior consultant ophthalmologist. He was the Head of the Refractive Surgery Department at the Singapore National Eye Centre from 2014 until he started private practice in 2023. He was a Clinical Associate Professor at the Duke-NUS Graduate School of Medicine and he has performed over 20,000 cataract, LASIK and other eye surgeries throughout his career. In addition to managing general eye conditions, he specializes in refractive surgery (LASIK, SMILE, PRK/LASEK/transPRK and ICL), cataract surgeries with advanced intraocular lenses and presbyopia treatment.

Dr Rosman won an SAF Local Study Award (Medicine) in 1992, completed his medical training in 1997 at the National University of Singapore and was the Valedictorian for his graduating class. After obtaining his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine in Ophthalmology in 2007, Dr Rosman subsequently went on to complete 2 advanced Fellowship Programmes on Refractive Surgery at the Singapore National Eye Centre and at the VISSUM Eye Institute in Spain.

Dr Rosman started his ophthalmology career at the Singapore National Eye Centre in 1999. He held multiple important positions at the Singapore National Eye Centre.

He was a senior consultant ophthalmologist, Head of the Refractive Surgery Department for over 9 years and was in charge of the Laser Vision Centre at the Singapore National Eye Centre. He was also a senior consultant in the Cataract Surgery Department. Dr Rosman was also the Head of the Optometry department for several years. He was the Clinical Director of the Private Patient Service, Chairman for the Medical Devices Committee and a core faculty for ophthalmology resident training. As the Chairman for the Medical Devices Committee, he led the committee to evaluate and assess the effectiveness and safety of new and advanced lenses and equipment for cataract and refractive surgery. He was among the first to use several new intraocular lenses, cataract and refractive surgery devices in the region.
