Aortic Aneurysm

What is a ruptured aortic aneurysm?

A ruptured aortic aneurysm is a serious and fatal condition.

Aorta is the main blood vessel which carries blood from the heart to the rest of the body. Commonly due to smoking and high blood pressure, the blood vessel dilates like a little balloon over the years and eventually burst. The condition is primarily asymptomatic until its rupture hence screening for this is essential.
